Help survivors feel safe, clean, and protected.
Traffickers often exert tight physical, emotional, and mental control over their victims. This trauma damages a survivor's chance of recovery and takes time to unpack. They need safe shelter – a roof over their heads, clean clothes, food, and a warm bed – before the healing can begin. While at the shelter, HAGAR provides counselling to help them take the first steps to confront their experience and take back control of their lives, one decision at a time. We also offer advice on their reintegration and other matters.
